Normandy: Alabaster Coast / Limestone Cliffs

Saint-Valery-en-Caux is a typical French seaside town. The main attraction is of course the high limestone cliffs, laid down in layers with horizontal lines of flints. The striking cliffs are the result of a rough sea which has eroded the limestone over the years.

The fishermen are very busy during the morning hours. They are coming back from fishing and discharge their catch. They are in a hurry because of the tide change. There is no discharge possibility during low tide. But I was focused more at the lighthouse ;-)

This scene was captured from the top of Mont Saint-Michele right after sunrise. Well, there was no sun around this morning but the fog created a very melancholic "blue" mood.
